This article presents a discussion of Ezra Taft Benson's opinions and teachings about women, motherhood, and women in the workplace. His views were often a critique of "worldly women" who worked, used birth control, or resisted against domestic living and relationships. He argued for more mothers with more children, and a focus on the home as their primary realm. These views were more harsh and poignant than those of other general authorities on the same topics, and Benson shared them with an urgency that came from a fear that women who failed to prize motherhood would prove the disintegration of society. Benson never backed down from these teachings.
