"Any Christian who has engaged in religious discussions with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints knows that 'Monotheism' is a topic that )if discussed) is likely to reveal fundamental differences of opinion. To put it simply, Christians believe that God is one, whereas the Latter-day Saints believe that God is more than one. It is not at all difficult to find quotes from LDS literature that make this point rather clearly. Joseph Smith is reported to have said in a sermon preached on June 16, 1844: 'I will preach on the plurality of Gods. I have selected this text for that express purpose. I wish to declare I have always and in all congregations when I have preached on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of Gods [that was preached]'" [Author]
