"Of what use is the concept of God? From the philosopher's point of view, a concept of God is useful if it can explain certain things. These include things like why anything exists rather than nothing, why the universe is orderly, why there are ethical truths and other matters of ultimate importance. Throughout history different philosophers, theologians, and even scientists have proposed that God is the final explanation for one or more of these issues. However, there is more than one concept of God on the market. Some concepts ar so radically different from one another that it has been said that one person;s theism is another person atheism. It is also the case that some God concepts have a greater ability than others to explain these ultimate issues. The ability of a God concept (or an atheistic system) to explain the ultimate question s about the world we live in is one important indicator of its truth or falsity." [Author]
