Charles Young Webb (b. 1819) was born in Malone, New York to Samuel and Pursilla (Polly) Crawford Webb. In about 1844 he was baptized a member of the L.D.S. Church. In the early 1840s he married Laura A. Smith and she too became a member of the Church. They moved first to Nauvoo and then to Winter Quarters. Charles became a part of the Mormon Battalion and was one of the first men to come upon the Donner Party in the Sierra Nevada mountains. After their arrival in Utah Charles and his families settled in Parawon. He married three women and was the father of seventeen children. It appears that he eventually left Utah in the late 1880s and never returned. His descendants live in Utah and parts of the western United States.
