This article describes the inception, growth, impact, and closure of the first native Mormon Mexican grassroots school outside of the Mormon Colonies in Mexico. It gives a holistic context of history, culture, war, laws, and religion. The school had a striking impact on individuals and the future of education in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico in less than a half-century.
