An interview with Lester Bush concerning the Mormon Negro doctrine. Bush says that historical investigation is important because, 'unless you look into the historical context of their [the leaders'] remarks and at the sequence of opinions held by succeeding presidents, you are hard-pressed to know whether a particular church leader's opinion at a given time is something to take very seriously or just a little seriously.' His study of the Negro doctrine followed this framework.
