An exquisite collection of previously unpublished or unavailable discourses from President Brigham Young. The compilers of the 1997 Priesthood lesson manuel for "The Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young" stated that this book was relied upon and used on a daily basis during the preparation of the manuel. These speeches are not found in the Journal of Discourses. Most of them were reported by George D. Watt, who was a master of Pittman shorthand. This ability enabled Watt to record these speeches precisely as they were given-they are complete and verbatim. For the first time, the whole man Brigham Young will be presented to the world as has never before been possible. Hear Brigham Young at the height of his career-secure in the mountain fastness of Deseret-where he could openly speak his mind to the saints completely untrammeled by sectarian and governmental influence.
