The expansion of the GDR's special building program, which permitted Evangelical churches to be built in new residential areas, led directly to the temple in Freiberg. That program also enabled the Church to construct new meeting houses, beginning with the stake center in Leipzig and extending to smaller chapels, throughout the GDR. [From the text]
