Following an introduction of the Panel members and a a brief historical overview of Joseph Smith's 1844 campaign for the U.S. presidency, a discussion was held regarding a few signifcant questions like, why exactly did Joseph Smith decide to run for president in 1844? Finally, a straw poll was administered to simulate the 1844 election with the members of the audience.
