"The life and times of a nineteenth-century Welsh-American missionary for the RLDS Church are outlined through church histories, nineteenthcentury news items, and interviews done with old members of the church. Most particularly, these sources and the diary of Evan B. Morgan show him to be an active leader in the church as well as a hard-working unionist and coal miner. He returns to his native Wales for the church at the turn of the century. Morgan’s diary shows him to be a compassionate individual with a rationalist and tolerant character. The dreams discussed in his diary capture some of the fears and desires of his inner life shaped by his life as a religious thinker and coal miner." [AUTHOR]
