The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers were seized with the desire to pass on to their children and their children's children the thrilling stories they had been told from the pulpit and around the fireside the true stories of the West. These stories have been preserved in this database. The material in each chapter contains many true Pioneer stories as well as historical dates and facts. Realizing that nothing is preserved that is not written and that to forward a great cause they must have an organization, they formed in 1901 the historical society of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. It is the purpose of every daughter of this organization to write the history of her pioneer ancestry and also to record what has been told and what is still being told by the survivors of these conquerors of the West.
