The appointment of Elder LeGrand Richards to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles marked the close of his administration as the seventh presiding Bishop of the Church, which position he had occupied since April 14, 1938.
Elder Richards has often been heard to say that the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is his first love and that its promulgation is his greatest ambition. A combined period of ten years spent in filling for missions for the Church affirms the truth of his expressed feelings.
He learned to love his people as their ward bishop and his larger fold as their stake president.
But his great love for his fellow men has never been limited to members of the Church alone. He is a forceful living example of the doctrine that we are our brother's keeper.
In this book, the rich and purposeful experiences of his abundant life, and the unfeigned feelings of his heart, combine to extend both the hand and the heart of fellowship to the House of Judah. [Publisher]
