This chapter explains some of the connections between Joseph Smith's Restoration and the Bible. Topics explored include Joseph Smith's First Vision, the coming forth of the Book of Mormon, the restoration of divine authority, and various prophecies and revelations from Joseph Smith. In the mind of Joseph Smith, concepts of the Restoration such as the temple grew out of a Biblical restoration. After translating the Book of Mormon, Smith produced an inspired revision of the Bible which included the restoration of the Christian gospel in the Old Testament. Throughout his career, Smith used Biblical passages in his speeches and writings. The chapter concludes by examining how Joseph Smith's approach to the Bible has affected the views of modern Latter-day Saints.
