In this chapter, Gregory Wilkinson explores the way modern Japan views the LDS Church. He states that in the Japanese mind, the Mormon image is a New religion movement rather than a global religious organization. Wilkinson compares the way the Mormon church is presented in Japanese new religion publications with the way other Christian churches are viewed in Japan.
