"In this essay I would like to offer, in the spirit of inter-religious dialogue, some thoughts on what must surely be the religiously sensitive person's most beautiful object of contemplation: the nature of God. In particular, I want to explore the understanding of God as a Trinity of persons, as articulated in the historic Creed of the Council of Nicaea (325 CE)... This short essay... will attempt to lay some groundwork which may help people to appreciate what exactly mainstream Christians mean when they speak of the Holy Trinity. This is not intended to be a defense of the Trinity, but rather an explanation of how the doctrine is understood within the framework of historic, orthodox Christianity." [from article]
