A biography of writer Cynthia Permela Shumway Wildermuth, also known as Perla Wild, is presented. She was born in Hancock County, Illinois, on November 23, 1841. Her parents later resettled in Wisconsin and joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS). She joined the RLDS in 1862 and married Eli Wildermuth the following year. Details on her religious and didactic writings are presented. She died in 1890.
