The article discusses the history of Mormon-Catholic relations in Utah. Particular focus is given to cooperation between the two communities. According to the author, a significant factor in peaceful relations between the two faiths was the Catholics' decision to avoid proselytizing members of the Mormon community. Details on joint charitable, philanthropic, and cultural projects undertaken by Utah's Catholic and Mormon communities are presented. Other topics include Catholic priest Edward Kelly, Mormon leader Brigham Young, and the role of religious conversion in the state's Catholic and Protestant schools.
