The article discusses the study of Mormon women's history as of spring 2012. The author examines the concept of separate-spheres ideology in the methodology of historians and the perceived emphasis on the male-dominated sphere of Mormon history, which may lead to a perception of female subordination, inequality, and victimhood. The author discusses the possibility of studying Mormon history by focusing upon Mormon family life as the basis for the social, cultural, and theological dimensions of Mormonism.
