Sonia Johnson, excommunicated by the Mormon Church, describes how her growing feminist consciousness led her to recognize both the patriarchal nature of Mormonism and the need for the Equal Rights Admendment. Sexist laws and organization are often justified as being the will of God, although they are clearly produced by men. Johnson also discusses contemporary feminist leaders and the growing conservatism of the church. (S. Hildenbrand)
