This chapter describes the achievements of Mormon women in the early Utah period of Church history who helped transform the Territory of Utah into a state. It follows the politics of women's suffrage and plural marriages in the early Church and the effects of the 1890 Manifesto which halted the practice of polygamy. Explains the role that Mormon clubwomen played in breaking down negative stereotypes held by non-Mormon groups.
