August 1, 1841 to January 1843. Gibson serves a mission to Glasgow, Scotland. He preaches in public squares and rented halls. He often contends with ministers of other faiths, recording their arguments and his rebuttals. October 15, 1855 to March 18, 1858. Gibson is called as a missionary to Weber County, serving with P. Pratt, O. Pratt, and W. Woodruff. He often records sermons by the two Pratts. Gibson zealously supports the Reformation, stating Jedediah Grants death was caused by his unceasing labor to reform the Saints. For his own part, Gibson breaks up a plural marriage, strongly advises against holding partieson Christmas Eve, and notes mass public confessions at church. He takes two plural wives, C.and Vilate, is re-sealed to his wives Janet, Annie, and [NAME], and moves yet another wife, Lilias to Ogden. Parties resume in mid-January 1858.
