This article uses news magazines and newspaper articles to analyze the effect of media portrayals of Latter-day Saints during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Its main argument states that journalists used the model minority discourse as was used in the past decades to describe Mormons. Most stereotypes remained, although some details changed.
