"The issue is not whether Woodruff had a dream or a visitation. The question is what the need was for Woodruff's experience. Since the proxy baptismal work had already been performed for all the individuals on the list, what reason would they have to trouble his mind, by whatever means? Since proxy endowments could not be performed in the Endowment House, that ordinance still remained undone, and this was a lapse that Woodruff corrected, along with the repetition of the baptisms he did not know had already been performed."
