This article discusses the Tucson lead artifacts, a collection of 32 artifacts that included crosses, spear heads, and swords. The artifacts were engraved with a mix of Latin, Masonic, and Jewish enscriptions. The artifacts were found in the mid 1920s, and some believed that they indicate a Roman presence between AD 775 and 900. Local Mormons believed that the existence of the artifacts supported the veracity of the Book of Mormon, but Church officials declined to make official statements regarding the artifacts. Photographs of the articles are included with the article.
