"The objective of this paper is to list official publications of the RLDS issued during the initial years of its existence. The English language sources compiled include periodicals, books, pamphlets and tracts. Each entry is annotated and listed by author. Listings by subject and date of publication are included in the appendices. An analytical essay on the literature cited is found in the paper also. Inclusion of a publication in this bibliography depended on three factors: (1) mention in existing printed Mormon bibliographies within the scope of this bibliography; (2) by observation of the items located in the library and archives of the church; and (3) upon mention in the Church's main periodicals. This bibliography should facilitate research in the history of the Latter Day Saint movement and in particular Reorganized Latter Day Saint history. Since no other bibliography of this nature now exists, it is hoped that it will be of great practical value to researchers using the library and archives of the Church. The Latter Day Saint religious movement is a strictly American experience which began in the early part of the nineteenth century in New York. This bibliography will help preserve and document the existence of the printed word in the early years of a church which was founded in this movement." [Author's abstract]
