In this lecture Bitton describes the economic life of George Q. Cannon. Cannon was unable to settle down and create his own financial basis during his early life, because he served several missions for the Church and was elected a member of congress. Later in life, Cannon became an avid businessman and entrepreneur. He invested in, created, and held leadership positions in several businesses and financial ventures. Despite his many financial endeavors, Cannon continued to serve in the Church and politics, and defended his economic decisions and stewardship of church funds.
