Young 'Tony' Ivins's family joined the Church in New Jersey, and came west with the Saints. There, they received a call to go to the Muddy Mission in southern Utah. The author described the hardships of these hardy pioneers as they settled the St. George area. With the guidance of his parents, Anthony W. Ivins became a responsible adult. He served as the leader of the Mexican colonies, a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles, and a counselor in the Church's First Presidency.
