"Some of the beliefs of individuals during the Reformation age bear a strong resemblance to concepts held by modern Latter-day Saints and others. The earlier believers had no way of knowing what would later be revealed, and it is not likely that nineteenth-century converts had much specific knowledge of sixteenth-century teachings. Even today, our understanding of Reformation theology is remarkably thin, but is it not possible that the Reformers shared some of the same ideas and held many similar values with later generations?"
