Pope records her personal recollections of growing up in her home. In this short narrative she focuses particularly on the faith of her father, Oscar W. McConkie, and how he passed that faith on to her and the rest of his children by fostering a desire for gospel knowlege, setting high standards and helping them understand the blessings that come from obedience, and teaching them to live by their standards in the face of challenges. She discusses how this legacy of faith has been a blessing in her life, giving her the foundation she needed to become the first female teacher in Religious Education at BYU.
