In this book, the authors present nearly two decades of their research into the effects of religiosity in the lives of LDS youth and young adults. The book is separated into chapters analyzing these effects in specific aspects of young life, including: delinquency, education, self-esteem, sexual purity, dating and marriage, family life, missionary service, and mental health. Contrary to popular sociological beliefs that religion is insignificant, irrelevant, or harmful to youth, the authors raise their claim that religion does, in fact, matter in the lives of LDS youth.
