This article discusses the point of view that religious involvement hinges much more on tradition and ritual than previously discussed. The endowment and other ceremonies are referred to as examples. The article concludes that in times of need individuals do not rely on doctrine as much as they do their own relationship with the divine, provided through religious ritual.
