Griffiths presents the life of J. Wiley Sessions, the first institute teacher. Sessions also served as a mission president in Africa, founded two other institute programs, and served as head of the Division of Religion at BYU. Griffiths also presents some of the early history of CES and the subsequent college institute programs. Sessions also served as president of the Mission Home in Salt Lake City.
