Curtis Weber tells the story of the burial of Joseph and Hyrum Smith. Their bodies were moved more than once over the years. In 1928 the skulls of Joseph and Hyrum were found and removed, then photographed and measured. Then the bodies of Hyrum and Joseph, along with Emma Smith, were reburied at the place they were found and remain there to this day. Weber discusses the controversy about misidentification of the skulls in 1994 at an MHA meeting, and uses the rest of the article to refute the controversy. He uses the 1928 photographs, the death masks, drawings of Joseph Smith, and basic anatomy to affirm that the remains of Joseph and Hyrum Smith were correctly identified in 1928.
