Rob Taber gives a brief review of the public relations efforts of the Church through new media under Apostle Joseph F. Merrill, at the time president of the European Mission. He selected missionary Gordon B. Hinckley to prepare filmstrips to be used in proselyting. Taber goes on to analyze the contents of some of these filmstrips and the accompanying reading guides. It was during this time that the Church started the Radio, Publicity, and Mission Literature Committee. The filmstrips that President Hinckley created were used in several missions of the Church.
