Clark begins by giving a brief history of Joseph Smith and the translating of the Book of Mormon. He then discusses the geographical implications of the Book of Mormon. He notes that Smith would have had little knowledge of Near East geography at the time of the Book of Mormon's publication. Clark points out that geographical statements considered impossible in the mid-1800s are currently recognized as fact.
