R. Jean Addams presents a brief history of the Church of Christ (Temple Lot), and the procedure they used to obtain and defend their ownership of the Temple Lot. "For nearly one hundred years the subject of the "Law of Consecration," "all things common," the "Financial Law" of the church, or the "Temporal Law" of the church was an ongoing and major concern to the Church of Christ and to the individual members of the church. Interpreting, defining, discussing, refining, and even attempting to live the "law of Consecration," as it was understood, continually occupied the thinking of this faithful group of adherents to the early revelations of Joseph Smith Jr."
