Clyde T. Ford feels that the book 'Jesus the Christ' by James E. Talmage was written in part to answer several questions of the day about Biblical interpretation. The author also sees the series of books about Jesus Christ written by Elder Bruce R. McConkie as a more conservative approach to the life of the Savior, and perhaps currently more popular. He concludes that James E. Talmage made an impressive effort with his book, which to date has not been officially superceded by any other work.
