In this lecture, Jenkins discusses some of the factors in the growth of Christianity in general in Africa. He points out that many of these factors should have worked to the benefit of Mormonism, which has experienced growth in Africa, but not in the staggering numbers of other Christian denominations. He suggests several reasons for this disparity, most notably the relative late start of Mormon missionary work on the African continent, and the Church's reluctance to hold African-style worship services. He foresees that some of these factors may diminish in importance over time.
