Student's Perceptions of Graduate Programs in Community Education at Brigham Young University

The purpose of this study was the examination of operational characteristics of the graduate degree seeking programs in community education at Brigham Young University. The programs had been designed to prepare graduates for effective performance in professional positions. Opinionnaires were sent to the 1968-80 traceable population of 290 students. The usable responses numbered 225. Findings and conclusions: (1) The respondents indicated the graduate program prepared them for effective performance in professional positions; (2) To enhance job performance, the respondents recommended the strengthening of: (a) fiscal and budget matters; (b) law and legal aspects; (c) statistical procedures; (d) ethnic group needs; (e) supervision of internships; (f) placement assistance; (g) outside program visitations; and (h) certain classes.
