In the 1950s and 1960s employees from Utah State University, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah worked for Point Four (a United States government organization) in Iran. The purpose of Point Four was to provide education and aid to developing countries that may have been susceptible to the influence of the Soviet Union. Most of these ''technicians" were also members of the Church. Embry's father was one of these employees and her family spent two years in Iran. She describes the Church in Iran: including a Tehran Branch and later an Iranian Mission, organization and types of worship services, Mormon social activities, and Mormon relations with Iranians. She also describes the work done by these contract employees and the end of the Point Four contracts.
