Samuelsen traces the recent history of LDS cinema since the release of "God's Army" and also discusses companies that distribute films by or about Mormons. He thinks it is possible that LDS films started doing poorly in ticket sales because the small niche market for these films was glutted. However, though Mormon cinema may be at "something of a crossroads" Samuelsen does not think it is dead.
