"This manuscript is the culmination of an endeavor to identify the members of the Salt Lake City Fourteenth Ward Female Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who sewed an album quilt in 1857. For the majority of the women, the biographies that exist are the (rightly) biased recollections of loving children. For these reasons I extensively quoted from the precious few documents that I could locate rather than further reinterpret what may or may not have occurred." [Author]
