Cannon gives the history of the Church in Montana. Early Montanan congregations were formed by gathering and reactivating scattered Mormon settlers. The sugar beet industry brought Mormon settlers to Montana in the early twentieth century. Missionary work brought significant growth to the Church, particularly in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1999, a temple was dedicated in Billings, Montana.
