Oman believes that Mormons have a strong tradition of religious art springing from impressionism. It is a benefit that the Church does not stereotype the image of Christ, allowing a certain amount of visual pluralism. This flexibility is needed in an international church. He discussed the attributes of abstraction and realism, and suggested that spirituality can be better portrayed with less details, leaving the total effect up to the observer. He offered advice to LDS artists that desire to paint the Savior: 1) fine-tune skills worthy of the subject, and 2) have faith in the Savior and in your audience. A few examples of paintings of Christ are provided.
