During the early 1900s, newspapers were the main source of disseminating information. This article examined the portrayal of the Navajo and Ute Indians by the newspapers in the southeastern section of Utah--accounts were often prejudiced against the Indians. Comparisons of Indian tribes are mentioned. Connections with Mormon doctrine and the Indians were a popular topic.
