Plotino Constantino Rhodakanaty was a Greek immigrant to Mexico who converted to Mormonism in 1879. He was a socialist professor who taught at a Presbyterian college in Mexico City who left Mormonism after being a member for less than a year. Rhodakanaty and members of his political circle tried to enlist Protestants and Mormons into Mexico's socialist movement. Their recruitment efforts often met with resistance.
