In 1937, Hal Rumel photographed LDS meetinghouses in Salt Lake and Davis counties. Many of these structures have since been demolished. A selection of his photographs of these chapels are printed. They include such Salt Lake wards as the First Ward, Highland Park, Emigration Ward, Center Ward, Fourteenth Ward, Twenty-first Ward, Wasatch Ward, Twenty-fourth Ward, Ensign Ward, Twelfth-Thirteenth Ward, Capitol Hill, Thirty-first Ward, Nineteenth Ward, Thirty-fourth Ward, Seventeenth Ward, and Twenty-seventh Ward. Other meetinghouses printed include Riverton, Clearfield, Granite, Syracuse, Midvale 2nd Ward, Taylorsville, and West Bountiful.
