Converted to Mormon Church by Orson Hyde, 1836. Father president of Lima Branch near Nauvoo. Settled at Farmington, Utah, 1853. Married Alvira Evalette Smith, 1863. Brigham Young speech in Farmington, 1871. Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery returning Book of Mormon plates to Hill Cumorah and hill opened up'found themselves in a room containing wagon loads of engraved plates. Sword of Laban hanging on wall. Young reported having heard story from Oliver Cowdery and others. Trip to Idaho to catch salmon, 1896. Account of Wilford Woodruff funeral. Church meetings. F.D. Richards funeral. Dedication of Rose home by John W. Taylor, 1899. Attended parade in Salt Lake City honoring President Roosevelt, 1903. Most impressed by Senator Smoot's speech. Death of wife, 1909.
