He also records the weather, letters received, and his attempts at courtship. He is eventually successful in his courting, as he records his marriage and the subsequent birth of his children. After marriage, Reeves leaves college. Journal lapses from October 11, 1895 to March 5, 1897. The diary resumes as he is returning to the Brigham Young Academy to finish his studies. Late in the diary, his wife, Emma, makes two entries. The journal lapses again from March 31, 1897 to October 3, 1898, when the final entry is made.
