Spillman presents evidence to support his theory that the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri, was the largest contributor to the doctrinal and structural transformation that the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints underwent in the last several decades. He points out that over the last 40 years, a large number of top officials in the Church attended and received degrees from St. Paul's. As more of the leaders of the Church became immersed in a more Protestant belief system, the RLDS Church began its journey towards the Protestant Christianity mainstream.
